National Lottery Community Fund back us with 'Rides for Rural Lives'
We are delighted to report The National Lottery Community Fund has once again stepped in to support us to reach the county's most rural communities, as well as providing funding for the purchase of a new electric minibus.
Thanks to National Lottery players, over the next five years we will be able to strengthen services that enable people to attend medical appointments, go shopping, take part in social activities and remain connected to their communities when no other realistic transport options exist.
The latest round of funding is to support core costs. Examples of this are rent for our premises, important because they make all frontline transport services possible and sustainable. Without them, even well funded individual projects struggle to operate effectively. They underpin the infrastructure that allows us to run safely, legally, and reliably. They also make us less vulnerable to sudden stoppages when short-term project funding ends, allowing us to retain experienced staff and properly support volunteers.
Funding core costs increases the impact of every pound spent on services and is an investment in the reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability of community transport for North Norfolk's most vulnerable residents.
